Memory Verse – Philippians 2:7 “7 But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born to be a man and became like a servant”
Bible Story/Children’s Sermon – (1 Samuel 16) David watching the sheep when Samuel came to anoint the king. David was serving his father and was blessed because of it. Explain that as a Christian we must follow Jesus. We must do everything He did. (Have some kids come up and instruct them to follow you and do what they do.) Jesus ultimate example to us was a servant.
A servant is –
Cares for others
Book of the King.
Key Point – Jesus is our King we are his servants
Memory Verse – 1 Corinthians 4:1 “People should think of us as servants of Christ, the ones God has trusted with his secret.”
Bible Story/Children’s Sermon – Read story of people coming to worship baby Jesus as king, Angels, Wise men and shepherds.
Mat. 2 and Luke 2
When we see Jesus as King – We see Him as valuable. Jesus desires to be the King of our hearts first place in our minds and affections. If this is true then:
- We will be fear and honor Jesus
- We will serve Jesus by helping others
- We will always worship only him
Malachi – Book of Obedience
Obedience = Blessing/ Disobedience = pain
Key Point – Obedience = Blessing/ Disobedience = pain

Zechariah– Book of Angels
Are Angels real?
Key Point – Angels are real.
Memory Verse – Psalms 34:7 “The angel of the Lord camps around those who fear God, and he saves them.” (NCV)
Skit – Have a few people come out and say that they love angels thinks they should worship angels they love them come out dressed like one MC explains we are not to worship them. The MC tells the group that angels are servants of God that help us and do certain things as messengers or representatives of God. There is nothing wrong with thinking angels are cool. But we are never to worship angels. Col. 2:17 tells we are not to worship angels. We are to worship God alone.
Object lesson – Mega phone – God’s messengers – Gabriel – Explain how Gabriel was one of Arc Angels in Heaven. He is one of the Top Angels in heaven he can be seen throughout the Bible proclaiming things telling people the Good News of Jesus Birth, warning and protecting people from harm.
Object lesson – Large sword – God’s protectors – Michael – Explain how Gabriel was one of Arc Angels in Heaven. He is one of the Top Angels in heaven he can be seen throughout the Bible Protecting people and executing judgment. Michael is the angel that protected many people in the Bible. He was the angel that fought against the devil to make sure that Daniel’s prayers were answered.
Puppet – Comes up with sling on his arm – Man’s Helpers – explains how an angel protected them in a car accident. A puppet come up explains how he was in a car accident and how he saw and angel keep them from falling off a cliff. It was so scary he should have been hurt worse the only thing that happened was that he got a slight sprained arm. The doctors in the hospital said that it must be a miracle. The puppet said that it was he told the doctor the story and lead the doctor to Christ.
Bible Story – Matthew 2:13 – Tell the story about how the God used an angel to Joseph to go to Egypt along with Mary and baby Jesus to escape the anger of King Herod. God used an angel to protect his only begotten Son. In the same way He sends angels and His Holy Spirit to protect us to help us.

Putting God first!
Key Point – Put God first
Memory Verse – Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.”
Skit – WWJD – If God isn’t first he isn’t first – Boy wakes up puts on a WWJD tee-shirt and says that he wants to put God first but other stuff gets in the way. He says that this is the day that Jesus is going to come before everything he goes to read his bible something comes up he goes to pray and his friends convince him to play with them instead of praying at the end of the day he is frustrated his father tucks him in the boy says that his day did not go very well at all. His father asks if he took his own shirts advice. What Would Jesus Do. The boy says that Jesus would spend time with God. The father says that he is correct. Jesus always did the will of God when he was here on earth. Jesus always put his relationship with God first before anything else. Father tells the boy that he needs to remember to put God first.
