Luke 19:2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.
How do you know when someone is sorry? Repentance is more than to say you are sorry it is to change the way you act. We know because they change. The Bible explains in Romans How to repent(say we are sorry). Rom. 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom. 10:10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Confess with your mouth – Acknowledge what you have done wrong.
Ask for Forgiveness
Change don’t stay the same – Believe in your heart that you are changed
Salvation is a free gift. God’s gracious gift toward you produces a change in your life. Zacchaeus Repentance was a byproduct of the grace shown to him that he didn’t deserve.

Memory Verse – John 14:18 I will not leave you orphans. I will come to you.
Bible Story/Children’s Sermon – John 11 the story of Jesus and Lazarus. Explain to the kids that God will never leave us he is always with us no matter where we go. Jesus loves us. The Bible is all about how much he loves. It tells us in the Bible in Romans 3 that God loves us so much that he sent His one and only son to die for our sins so that we could be God’s friend again and that we go to heaven.

Key Point – We must serve others just like Jesus.
Memory Verse – Philippians 2:7 “7 But he gave up his place with God and made himself nothing. He was born to be a man and became like a servant”
Bible Story/Children’s Sermon – (1 Samuel 16) David watching the sheep when Samuel came to anoint the king. David was serving his father and was blessed because of it. Explain that as a Christian we must follow Jesus. We must do everything He did. (Have some kids come up and instruct them to follow you and do what they do.) Jesus ultimate example to us was a servant.
