Skit –Three people come in – talk show style and are interviewed because they disobeyed and they are missing an arm etc. Because they were disobedient. The last contestant will be obedient. They will come in dressed in fine clothing and explain that because he has obeyed God he will be blessed in all that he does. The other guests scratch their heads like they don’t really understand. The host explains that the disobedient guest should try doing what the obedient guest is doing because there is a difference between those who love God and are obedient to Him and those who are disobedient. Host winds up by saying “when we are obedient that = blessed when we are disobedient that = pain.”

Skit – Obey parents even when it’s hard – Obeying parents is obeying God. – Ex. 20:12 Have a boy who wants to play video games and his parents come in and keep asking him to do chores. He does the first one with an ok attitude the next one with a bit worse attitude the last one he does with a terrible attitude. The boy’s father sits him down and explains what Ex. 20:12 means when it tells us to honor and obey our parents that we will have a long life. When it talks about long life it means a full blessed life. Not only will you live a long time but you will have a great quality of life.

Object lesson – Spanking Spoon – Tell a story about how you were disobedient and how it caused pain. How we need to work at being obedient. It says in Ex. 20:12 that if we obey our parents we will be blessed.
