So good. Thanks for asking these questions! I love that he doesn’t suggest shying away from the invitation, but explains where to leave the focus.

Favorite line…”There is only one posture ever appropriate to Christ: surrendered to His Lordship, and believing that He did what He said He did.”

Thanks Matt. Loved JD’s answers as well. Love how he brings it back to the focus on Christ not getting caught up in methods. Love his passion for gospel ministry.

Glad you got to interview J.D. Those were some great questions and can be particularly influential in the kidmin world. I have been standing on this soapbox for years and am glad that clarity of the gospel is being discussed in more light. I have written on it here: http://becomingsaturated.com/2012/02/askjesusintoyourheart/ as well as in a few other spots on my blog.

One element of my understanding that J.D.’s answers shed light on is that “Jesus in our hearts” is an abstract connection to only a small component of salvation That guiding a child to respond by stating they would like to have other “implications” of the gospel is not a clear response.

Keep up the great gospel-centered work.
