Sam I love this. When I spoke at church last I talked about this very thing. Losing both parents last year and having to clean out their home in a matter of weeks was very difficult. I didn’t have the greatest relationship with my father but in his death I have learned more about him than I knew about him in life. My three most precious things I kept from my parents house were my dad’s bible, the coin purse he carried around and always let me get offering out of every Sunday and a Bible dictionary that was given to my grandparents (whom I was never after but never met) by my great grandparents on Christmas in 1926. Those things are priceless. I have read his Bible, the notes he left in there and the scriptures he underlined and wrote about over and over…it has given me a new perspective on the depth and love my Dad had for God’s word and I can’t imagine a greater legacy to leave. Thanks for sharing. I love this idea.
