24, LOST me

jack-bauer.jpg

I am officially breaking up with Jack Bauer. I have watched Jack Bauer from Day 1 literally. I have been an unashamed Bower evangelist, I converted all my friends to be Jack fans. This year has been so dissapointing I am no longer watching.

The sad part is I am not leaving 24 it has (thanks to the worst writing staff on earth by writer and producers drunk with success ) left me. 24 at one point in my life was an experience . It was something that you shared with friends, I have met strangers who have become good friends because of 24, but no longer. It has fallen victim to itself, it has become boring, predictable and irrelevant . The writers have admitted to "winging it" the past two years.

I think people are looking for the same things in church, they want to experience something amazing that they can’t wait for their friends to experience and be a part of too. To many churches have fallen victim to themselves and have become boring, predictable and irrelevant . They "wing it" thinking no one will notice. They notice. The part that scares me most is how many chances will someone give us before they move on?

In case you are wondering I’m now dating Lost.

Great Quote: Marketing

“If the circus is coming to town and you paint a sign saying “Circus Coming to the Fairground Saturday,” that’s advertising. If you put the sign on the back of an elephant and walk it into town, that’s promotion. If the elephant walks through the mayor’s flower bed, that’s publicity. And if you get the mayor to laugh about it, that’s public relations. If the town’s citizens go the circus, you show them the many entertainment booths, explain how much fun they’ll have spending money at the booths, answer their questions and ultimately, they spend a lot at the circus, that’s sales.”

Who is Stephen Baldwin?

Stephen Baldwin will be speaking at our Generation Conference this July. Here is more information about him.

Stephen Baldwin
(born May 12, 1966 in Massapequa, New York) is an American actor, best known for his role in the 1995 ensemble cult film, The Usual Suspects. He is the youngest of the acting Baldwin brothers, with brothers Daniel, William, and Alec.

If you’ve channel surfed lately or taken a trip to the neighborhood movie rental store, chances are you’ve seen Stephen Baldwin. It’s kind of hard to miss a guy who’s starred in over 40 movies and appeared in over 35 television series and specials.

For the past three years, Baldwin has been seen hosting the Sci-Fi Channel’s “Scare Tactics” (2004-05) and competing in reality shows like “Celebrity Mole: Hawaii” (2003) and “Celebrity Mole: Yucatan” (2004). His disturbing yet comical mind games helped him win “Celebrity Fear Factor” (2002). Baldwin has also appeared on TV’s top drama “CSI” (2005).

Baldwin’s career started in the late ’80s on television, but really took off with a string of big screen appearances including Posse (1993), 8 Seconds (1994) and Threesome (1994). His brightest moment came when he co-starred in the critically-acclaimed mindbender The Usual Suspects (1995).

In 2004, Baldwin partnered with Kevin Palau of Livin It Productions to create the top-selling DVD Livin It featuring an impressive group of skaters and BMX riders.

Baldwin’s passion for skating is trumped only by a dedication to his wife and two daughters and an even bigger purpose for his life. The native New Yorker has something important to say and he desperately wants the whole world to hear it.

Fast Facts –

  • Became a Christ follower shortly after the events of 9/11
  • Met current wife, Kennya, on a subway in New York were married in June 1990
