Megan Marshman – God with us

Megan Marshmen The Gathering

Equip: Gathering #3: God is With Us
Megan Marshman

[callout]Megan talked about the power that the gospel provides. When we understand that we are loved beyond what we deserve and when we will love others and tell them the Good news about what Christ has done for them. Power message and challange to live in light of our acceptance before Christ. [/callout]

We need to know that they are loved. It’s the best news ever.

John 17:23
23 I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

What is the world shouting at us?

God with us is not only a promise but an invitation.

1. you are loved
2. you are transformed because he’s here.

Sin creates self-centered life that leads to isolation.

The gospel doesn’t start with what would Jesus do in our lives It’s what he has done (WWJDone – LOL)

Jesus was the great empathizer –

3. So that we can respond

Acts 1:1 Luke was about what Jesus started Acts is what Jesus continues to do.
Acts 8:3 – Jesus was more beautiful than their pain is ugly.

A teenage boy with cancer – I have cancer I am dying don’t pity me I pity you because you think you will live forever and you are wasting your breath trying to get people to love you. That’s not good news.

Imagine if you could walk into any environment not worried if you are loved but understanding that you are loved.

My Thoughts –

We tend to forget. We forget small things and forget important things. We have to always remember. When we truly understand that we are loved we are transformed when we are transformed we respond to the call out of a debt of gratitude.

Loved this – A teenage boy with cancer – I have cancer I am dying don’t pity me I pity you because you think you will live forever and you are wasting your breath trying to get people to love you. That’s not good news.

What am I wasting my breath on? What am I building my life on that isn’t Jesus? Anything and everything that isn’t Jesus will be shaken. But Christ alone is the solid rock in whom we find, joy, peace, confidence. He is our life.

Our job is make Jesus beautiful.
