Free Bible Lesson – Genesis "God Created Me"

– Book of Creation

Key Point – God created me so I will live for him
Memory Verse – Gen. 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Skit – A boy is at school, some bully kids make fun of a boy say that he is weird and that they aren’t going to hang out with him. The boy says that he isn’t weird because God doesn’t make junk. The bullies respond and say oh yea he made you didn’t he? They give each-other a high five and walk off. The boy is sad and crying because he thinks that he is junk. An adult comes out and sees the boy crying and explains to the boy that God doesn’t make junk that each and everyone of us are created in God’s image. The adult explains that because He created us we can live for him.

Puppet – Have a puppet come up with a baseball hat on. Have the MC ask why he is wearing a baseball hat. The puppet will explain that he is wearing a baseball hat because we are studying Genesis. The MC will look perplexed and ask what baseball has to do with creation. The puppet explains that God created the heaven and earth at a baseball game. The MC tells the puppet that the puppet must have something mixed up. The puppet tells the MC to pull out his Bible and read Genesis 1:1. The MC does just that and still doesn’t understand what that has to do with baseball. The puppet then explains that the bible says “In the BIG–INNING” you know like a baseball inning. The MC laughs then explains that isn’t a baseball inning it is talking about baseball it is talking about how God created the world and how he created you and me from the start the beginning.

Object lesson – If you create something you own it – Lets say I invent the pencil no one has ever invented a pencil because I invented I now own it. It belongs to me in the same way that this pencil belongs to me we belong to God. He created us so we must live for Him.

Skit – Have a not so bright kind of person come out while the MC is talking about how he need to live for Jesus. The Mr. Messy person will start making a mess. The MC will come over and ask what is going on. Mr. Messy will explain that he heard what the MC said about if you make something you own it. So he is making a mess of the room so that he can own it. The MC tries to explain but Mr. Messy is to busy making a mess to pay attention. The MC finally gets Mr. Mess’s attention and explains that it is not the room that he is going to own but the mess. You haven’t created this room just a mess in the room. Mr. Messy finally gets it.

Bible Story – Tell the story of how God created man.
Genesis 1:26-31
26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, [b] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 So God created man in his own image,
       in the image of God he created him;
       male and female he created them.
28 God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
