Equip: Gathering #4:God is On the Move
The problem with Christianity is not what happens at church it’s what’s not happening at home.
4 “Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[b]5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
10 “And when the Lord your God brings you into the land that he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you—with great and good cities that you did not build, 11 and houses full of all good things that you did not fill, and cisterns that you did not dig, and vineyards and olive trees that you did not plant—and when you eat and are full, 12 then take care lest you forget the Lord, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery. 13 It is the Lord your God you shall fear. Him you shall serve and by his name you shall swear.

3. We need to wear it well.
4. This will leave a lasting IMPRESSion.
How do we join this movement as a church
1. Has to be a heartbeat of how we do church
2. We need to drive it through every ministry of the church
3. We need to resource it
4. We need to sustain it
What is your intentional strategy to make home the primary place spiritual development takes place.
(Paper doesn’t forget – write more letters.)

Be bold and trust that what you have been called to do. Lead strong.
Joshua 24 – Who are you going to serve.
The goal and heart beat of Deuteronomy 6 is that we understand that our God is one God that we love him passionately. Teaching our kids and resourcing parents to teach their kids comes from a place of passionate understanding that I am a sinner in need of a Savior. Love that Mark starts with our need to love Jesus.
The tendency of the church is to create hoops and markers to signify faith. The goal of the church is create environments that point people to the greatness of God. That they in turn can internalize the greatness of who God is and impress it on their kids.
I whole heatedly agree with Mark we need a movement. We need churches and homes that proclaim the power, majesty to the next generation. We have to help our kids see that the story they are apart of is far greater than anything they could find anywhere.
If I have succeeded as a pastor and a father my kids will understand that “Jesus is everything!”
