Ed Young is a straightforward communicator who
uniquely connects God’s unchanging truth with a diverse culture through
compelling and creative teaching methods. He is the founding and Senior
Pastor of Fellowship Church. The church has its main campus just north
of the DFW Airport and operates three satellite campuses in the greater
Dallas/Fort Worth area and one in Miami, Florida.
Ed Young Ministries airs a weekly television program throughout the
U.S. and Europe, including USA, TBN, Daystar and CNBC Europe (view
listings).
Ed’s latest book is Outrageous, Contagious Joy. Other books include The Creative Leader, The Creative Marriage, YOU! The Journey to the Center of Your Worth, and Rating Your Dating While Waiting for Mating.
Ed is a frequent conference speaker, and he provides resources for church leaders through CreativePastors.com and the Creative Church Conferences (C3).
He and his wife, Lisa, are also strong advocates of maintaining an
active and healthy lifestyle. And to help people honor the bodies God
has entrusted to us, they have produced a series of resources called Body for God. Ed and Lisa have been married for twenty-four years and have four children.
Books
1990 – Fellowship Church begins as Fellowship of Las Colinas with 150 people
in MacArthur Commons Office Complex and Ed Young as its first pastor.
1993 – The church searches for a location to build a permanent facility and
finds a 160 acre site in Grapevine about 3 miles north of the DFW
airport.
1996 – With four Sunday morning services and one Saturday evening service, the
church moves to Irving’s MacArthur High School with a weekend
attendance of 5,000.
1997 – Fellowship Church hosts its first annual Creative Church Conference
(C3) to help train and inspire church leaders from around the world.
1998 – Fellowship Church opens its first permanent facility in Grapevine,
Texas with a broader scope of ministry and even greater impact.
Highlights included:
- A car caravan from MacArthur High School
- An evening dedication service where Ed was joined by his father, Dr. Ed Young and Bill Hybel
2002 – The 80,000 sq. ft. Creative Communications Center opens to offer
three state-of-the-art children’s auditoriums with breakout rooms, and
a beautiful 600-seat chapel. A new 7-acre lake is the centerpiece of a
three-quarter mile walking trail, baptismal pool and prayer garden
provides a beautiful place to worship and relax.
2004 – To introduce two new campuses, two Christmas Eve services are held at
the American Airlines Center in Dallas. CreativePastors.com is launched.
2005 – Three new campuses open to create one church in four locations. The C3
conference expands regionally to cities across North America.
2006 – Fellowship Church is selected to acquire 1000 acres for a camp and retreat center on Lake Hawkins in East Texas. God also provides the opportunity to secure a building in downtown Dallas which has become our Downtown campus. This campain is thier Fellowship Church capital campain.
