Sam graduated from Portland Bible College in 1997 with a BA in Theology and has served at Redeemer Church in Utica, New York, for over two decades, currently as the Executive Pastor of Ministries. He holds two MA degrees from Knox Theological Seminary in Biblical and Theological Studies and Christian and Classical Studies, which he earned in 2021.
As an author, contributing editor to K! magazine, former chairman of the INCM board, and blogger since 2007, Sam is passionate about the transformative power of the Gospel and mentoring the next generation of disciple-makers. He has also spoken at conferences and provided coaching.
Sam and his wife have been married for 25 years and have four children, aged 20, 17, 15, and 11. They live in Upstate New York, where Sam enjoys reading, baseball, writing, and spending time with his family.
The church needs to be more like Mister Rogers and less like Disney.
