Guest Post: Brent Peak on Customizing a Facebook Fanpage.

I came across Brent’s fan page for his kids church and was blown away. I thought what he had done could be a game changer for for kids ministry. I talk to many kids pastor’s who either don’t have the tech skills to do a cool web page or they don’t have the budge to have someone make one for them.

I feel like what Brent has done in customizing his kids church fan page could easily serve as the primary online presence for any ministry. With larger ministries like Lifechurch.tv moving to this model I think you are going to see this strategy become more and more mainstream.

I asked Brent if he would be kind enough to through together a tutorial of how to customize your churches’ fan page. It’s fantastic easy to follow. I have been busy with Orange but in the next couple of weeks I plan on doing our kids churches page when I do I will post the code for any people out there who don’t know HTML.

If you want to get ahold of Brent here is where to find him:

His blog

His Twitter

To get an Idea of what I am talking about here are a couple of people out there doing this very thing.

  • I appreciate Brent, too, for sharing how to do this on Facebook. It's super easy and, while someone like me may not be able to do the high end graphics, it still makes a better "welcome" to your page than just your wall, and it provides easy links back to your site. I would recommend CM sites do this as a great way to stay connected with families. Thanks Brent for getting this ball rolling and Sam for sharing it on a wider scale!
